Voices for Gaza packs Manchester's Band on the Wall

Dedicating their talents to supporting Palestinians under the Gaza genocide, Gazelleband and oud player Reem Anbar topped a vibrant bill of artists at Manchester's Band on the Wall on 28 August. Musicians including Ríoghnach Connolly and Ellis Davies, Indian Pale Male and Arian Sadr were joined by Palestinian poet Ramsey Janini in a high-octane night of music and solidarity. Reem and Gazelleband performed music from Palestine and its surrounding region and were joined onstage by vocalist Nour Sima.

This second instalment of Voices for Gaza at Band on the Wall raised funds for communities in Gaza, including Reem's own family, who remain displaced and hungry. From the stage, Reem spoke of her family's strength and love of music, pledging to continue her crucial support work through the medium of her oud.
